What is the JIPMAT exam? All you need to know!

JIPMAT is an entrance exam or an admission test for admitting applicants into the IPM courses at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. The term JIPMAT stands for joint integrated program admission test. The applicant in this test has to appear online test of 400 marks to qualify for the seats. JIPMAT is an exam that a national test agency conducts every year. You will find questions divided into three sections in 150 minutes. The applicants who wish to pursue their integrated program in Management at IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu must enroll themselves with the JIPMAT application online.

Eligibility criteria 

Every applicant who wants to enroll for the JIPMAT exam must have some eligibility criteria per the national testing agency. Here are the eligibility criteria for the JIPMAT exam.

  • Applicants who wish to appear on the JIPMAT exam must pass their 10th and 12th grades. The students must pass their 10th and 12th grades in relevant years as mentioned by the conducting body.
  • The applicants who are almost to appear for the 12th board exam in the near future can also apply and enroll themselves.
  • When it comes to weightage, the combined scores from 10th, 12th, and JIPMAT scores will decide whether you will qualify or not.
  • The aspirants must have scored at least 60% aggregate in their 10th and 12th standards board examination. 
  • In the case of SC/ST/OBC/PwD, the conducting body offers a 5% relaxation from the 10th and 12th grades. 

The timeline for the exam

Every year, the exam takes place in June. The application form will open from 1st April to 30th April.

What is IPMAT? All you need to know?

IPMAT is a similar test to JIPMAT. But it is an exam that IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak hosts for shortlisting applicants; the exam offers you access to the five-year integrated management program at IIM Indore and Rohtak. You will have to appear for an online MCQ-based test to qualify for this exam. Like JIPMAT, this exam also commences every year. Applicants from all corners of India can apply for the test to read at IIM Indore.

However, the exam is moderate in terms of difficulty. Every right answer will offer you four marks, but a single wrong answer will deduct one mark. This increases the competition in the exam. In the IPMAT exam, aspirants will appear the test segmented in three sections. The first section will offer you MCQ-type questions from quantitative ability. The second section would be a short answer-type section. Candidates have to answer questions on quantitative ability with one-word or two-word answers. The final section is again an MCQ-based section. Here you will face questions about verbal ability.
